WHO CO BiH Report no. 22

This issues brings Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General, message for the month of May, noting a truly significant period for the WHO, having achieved several milestones and important decisions have been made during the Seventy-sixth World Health Assembly.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has released a report called “Left Behind in Pain” concerning the inequitable global distribution of morphine for medical use. Despite its efficacy and affordability for relieving severe pain, morphine's access differs greatly across countries, with a 5- to 63-fold difference in median consumption between high-income and lower-income countries.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced a new, joined global initiative with the WHO to inspire and enable the world to move more every day. Let’s Move will begin on Olympic Day, 23 June 2023, with an invitation to make time every day for movement for better health.
