The Report has been jointly prepared by FAO and UNDP with support of the global United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Fund and within the overall United Nations Secretary-General’s efforts to assist the governments devise strategic interventions to cope with the multi-dimensional crisis in food, energy, and finance. In addition to assessing the impact of the global crisis on smallholder farmers and agri-food producers in Bosnia and Herzegovina and analyzing the country’s dependence on other import and export markets for key agricultural commodities, the report also evaluates the food security demand by the most vulnerable groups, maps the food centres in the country and informs the evidence-based contingency planning and emergency response programming in the areas of food security and social protection.
The event will also be an opportunity to review the overall status of the agri-food sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the current challenges, priorities and preparations for the upcoming global Food Systems Stocktaking Moment in Rome, and exchange information on the ongoing and/or planned key interventions and contributions in this sector.
