CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS Literary and artistic competition on "The Next 25 Years in Bosnia and Herzegovina"

This initiative is guided by the Decade of Action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and builds upon Bosnia and Herzegovina’s marking of 25 years of peace in 2020, with aims to encourage youth to reflect on what peaceful and prosperous future means to them, what could the next 25 years look like in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We invite young people to interpret and imagine the future through their camera lenses, brushes and canvases, words – lyrics and stories, or any other artistic expression, reflecting engagement across sustainable development, and political and social development.

ELIGIBILITY:

- The call is open for all youth between 18 and 30 years of age

- Applicants must be citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina

- Applicants apply as individuals 

AWARD:

The selection panel consisting of United Nations Dialogue for the Future team and partners s will select the best submissions through a blind review process based on fulfilment of the guidelines and criteria for each category.

The three award winning categories are as follows:

1. The best written piece (essays, short stories, or poetry) 

2. The best photograph, drawing or painting

3. The best short-video (up to 5 minutes) or any alternative artistic composition on the overall theme of the call

Selected papers and artwork will be published in a bilingual publication (English and Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian), in partnership with the OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina and will be promoted jointly.

The best submissions from each category will be awarded (award pool includes laptop and tablet computers) and the author/artist(s) will be invited to partake in future promotional events organized by the UN and OSCE missions on the topic.

Applicants are invited to submit their works of art by 30 June 2021.
