Youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina: aspirations, frustrations, and futures
12 August 2025
This meta-analysis consolidates findings from six major youth-focused studies conducted between 2021 and 2024, capturing the lived realities, perceptions, and aspirations of young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ten cross-cutting trends emerge — from deep distrust in institutions and high emigration intentions, to calls for fairness, gender equality, and interethnic dialogue. The report highlights both structural barriers and sources of resilience, offering evidence-based insights for policymakers, civil society, and the international community. It aims to guide coordinated action to address systemic challenges, expand opportunities, and support a future where young people can thrive at home.
