The 4th Session of the Joint BiH-UN Steering Committee - Banja Luka

  • The overall responsibility of the Joint Steering Committee is to provide strategic oversight and guidance for implementation of the 2015-2020 United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The 4th session of the Joint Steering Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina and United Nations took place on 25 March 2019 in Banja Luka, at the Administrative Centre of the Entity Government of Republika Srpska. The overall responsibility of the Joint Steering Committee is to provide strategic oversight and guidance for implementation of the 2015-2020 United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) for Bosnia and Herzegovina. The session was hosted by the Ministry of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republika Srpska Entity as a member of the Joint Steering Committee.

The session was chaired by the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in BiH, Ms. Sezin Sinanoglu, and attended by representatives of all UN agencies active in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as representatives of the nominated authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The participants in the meeting were presented with the UN Country Results Report in BiH for 2018 and draft biennial work plans for the period 2019-2020, which have been prepared through consultations with representatives of the relevant authorities in BiH. Discussions also covered presentation of the roadmap for the preparation of the next UN Programme for BiH, the state of play of the activities on implementation of the Agenda 2030 / Sustainable Development Goals in BiH, and the agenda included also presentation of the activities on the global reform of the United Nations
